The Scottish Court Service required a fresh and innovative Induction Video to highlight the various aspects of its work and services to new employees.  Filming was carried out over a number of days at various locations throughout Scotland and a script written that allowed existing staff to be filmed telling the SCS story.

"Tigershark's passion, focus and professionalism totally outshone all other interested parties at Tender Stage and the final Corporate  Induction DVD  produced was everything I was looking for and more.

Colleagues within the business have commented on the professional look and finish and the great use of 3D.  Others have told me that watching this production makes them proud to work for SCS and everybody who took part in the making of it enjoyed the experience.

I found Stewart Campbell and his team to be very professional, patient and extremely flexible and would not hesitate to recommend Tigershark and would certainly use them again."

Scottish Court Service

Many people were called upon to play a part in the production including the Lord President as Chair of the SCS Board, Chief Executive Eleanor Emberson and current staff talking about their role and experiences.

All had to learn their lines and then be filmed against a special green screen - similar to the technique used by Hollywood studios to put actors into computer-generated environments.

Then the Tigershark team could get to work putting all the participants into a nice clean 3D world and editing in a soundtrack and all the on-screen graphics.

The Scottish Court Service is delighted with the end result, which showcases the breadth and depth of this forward-looking organisation.

Lesley Powley: "People are proud to work for the service and I wanted the DVD to incorporate our values and aims as well as set aside any preconceptions of the court service. The SCS is steeped in history and tradition but technology supports this constantly evolving organisation. People coming in for the first time would not necessarily appreciate that until they watch the DVD."

Tigershark Managing Director Stewart Campbell said: "With so many different locations and people this was an intricate job, but my team rose to the challenge and, with the SCS staff fully on board, we were able to use the very latest software and editing techniques to bring the SCS story to life.

"Using DVD means that a large, complex organisation can give new staff a complete overview of the company and include contributions from a range of employees – anyone from the chief executive in the boardroom up to workers on the shop floor.

"A DVD production also has a very good shelf-life and it's possible to use extracts from the production on the Internet or at trade shows."

The Scottish Court Service - In their own words

""The courts and the Office of the Public Guardian are protectors of the rights and liberties of the Scottish people. For each and every one of us this is a serious responsibility.

"The Scottish Court Service supports the judiciary in the delivery and administration of justice and supports the Public Guardian in protecting vulnerable people. To be successful, we rely on you to provide the highest quality service to all our court and other users.

"The legal establishment in Scotland is rooted in history but the Scottish Court Service is forward looking using the latest technology to deal with the wide variety of tasks for which we are responsible.

"Running the SCS is a massive logistical exercise where things have to work like clockwork, with the right people in the right place at the right time.

"The service is responsible for delicate matters such as providing vulnerable witnesses with access to a video link so they don't have to appear in court, but it's also in charge of the practical things like giving jurors cups of tea and coffee when the court's not sitting.

"The Scottish Court Service tries to combine Scotland's tradition and culture with innovative ideas to ensure the legal system keeps up to date whilst respecting the independence of the judiciary.

"And it cannot do that alone. Every day at various levels there is interaction between agencies.

"We recognise that coming to court in whatever capacity can be a daunting experience and we aim to provide a safe and comfortable environment for our staff and court users in all our various locations. Across the country we do this in the supreme courts, the sheriff courts and the justice of the peace courts. We aim to be consistent and reliable, delivering services when they are promised and making the best use of resources available.

"The Scottish Court Service is an important organisation which requires well trained, dedicated staff to ensure that the people of Scotland have access to justice. That's why commitment and professionalism, integrity and impartiality are essential.

"Traditions and buildings going back hundreds of years are still very much part of the Scottish Legal System which is respected all over the world. Having said that, the historical element does not mean that this is an organisation that is standing still.

"On the contrary, the Scottish Court Service are always looking at ways of bringing in the latest technology to ensure maximum efficiency. Every working day we ask a great deal of the staff who work for the Scottish Court Service.

"We rely completely on your commitment and professionalism to provide the highest standard of service. We want to provide you with the training, the personal development, career opportunities and the other help you need to do your job as well as you possibly can. The courts and the office of the public guardian and the headquarters services which support them are essential to provide access to justice.

"We promise to give the very best to you if you will do your best for the people of Scotland."
