The Poppyscotland Hearts and Heroes Challenge wanted a DVD to highlight the enormous fun that participants can have as they tackle a 29-mile route through the stunning scenery of the Scottish Borders and the massive sense of achievement they will enjoy after raising valuable funds for well-deserving charities.
Poppyscotland were keen to illustrate how easy it is for people of all ages and abilities to take part in the event, as well as the friendships they will undoubtedly form along the way.
The video had to be persuasive - because the more people who take part, the more money will be raised - as well as show how the organisers will take care of health and safety, re-energising points, route marshalling and, of course, the massage tents for treating any tired limbs.
The tone had to be one of "gentle encouragement" rather than a hard sell
The Hearts and Heroes charity challenge is and event designed to give participants a massive sense of achievement at the end of a great day out.
The route covers 29 miles through the stunning scenery of the Scottish Borders and is designed to be a challenge, but it is an event open to anyone whatever pace they want to go at…

What makes this charity walk different is the camaraderie and banter along the way...and there's a common goal…..to help soldiers and rugby players whose lives have been drastically changed through injury or hardship. So are you up for the challenge?
To take part you must be in a team of four. You might want to enter a team from your workplace, your rugby club, your local pub or your army unit!
There are men’s, ladies' and mixed teams of all ages. If you want to race, go for it, but a more leisurely pace is also fine. Make this day what you want it to be.
The route starts at St Mary’s Loch, travels along part of the southern upland Way and ends at Melrose Rugby Club… It’s further than a marathon, but the beautiful surroundings will ease that journey.

And if the going gets really tough, then there's plenty of bonding and encouragement from fellow participants….
For those who complete the challenge there are plenty rewards, including some TLC in the massage tent, before a huge feast and a celebratory knees-up. And for those with any energy left, there’s the chance for some heroic dancing.
So what's stopping you? This is a challenge for all abilities.
Giving it a go is what it’s all about. Surprise yourself. Find your heart and be a hero!
